Digital Video Production Course (Certificate)
The Digital Video Production Course is for anyone with a basic knowledge of shooting a video in any genre. Because we offer a very practical approach using industry standard equipment, the student will learn the tricks of the trade by doing it from the start. All techniques learned will help you to make a higher quality, more professional footage.

- Basic English language skills
Theory Lectures
- 1 x 2,5 hours per week

- Individual bookings, with personal support of a supervisor
- Access to facilities at least 6 days per week

Course Contents
Video Basics
Students will be introduced to good practices including safe handling of the camera and sound equipment as well as technical basics such as lenses, focusing, white balance, exposure, video formats.
Camera Techniques and Lighting
Setting up the camera, adjusting shutter speed, aperture, focal length, colour temperature and focus, and the effects each of these have on the recorded image. Students will also be introduced to a variety of lighting techniques to achieve professional quality footage.
Scripting and Storyboarding
Students will learn how to produce correctly formatted scripts and documentary synopses, and how to translate their ideas into images by producing storyboards, shooting scripts and shot lists.
Sound Recording and Post Production
In this part of the programme, students will be familiarized with techniques for achieving professional standard location sound using a range of microphones and techniques. Additionally, sound editing using specialist software will be taught.
Video Editing and Colour Correction
Manipulation and processing of video will be introduced using professional non-linear video editing tools. Students will learn basic techniques for colour correction and motion graphics, including text manipulation for title sequences.
